Facial Rejuvenation

Although relatively new to the cosmetic industry, HIFU has been successfully used in the medical industry for many years.

The treatment is a revolution in non-surgical facelifts as it can the high-intensity ultrasonic beams can penetrate the skin at multiple depths, including the SMAS layer.

The superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) is the same layer that doctors adjust during facelift surgery. Previously, non-invasive treatments have been unable to reach these depths, which is why a HIFU Facelift at our Birmingham clinic could be a viable alternative to surgery.

What is the S-Section?

The Science

Multiple high-intensity beams of ultrasound converge at a set depth beneath the superficial layers of the skin. Individually the beams have no effect, which allows them to travel through the epidermis and dermis.

When the beams converge they create a node of thermal energy which can tighten the muscles and stimulate collagen regrowth. (see research)

The integrity of collagen decreases as we get older. This causes common signs of ageing such as crow’s feet and frown lines. Tightening the facial muscles and improving collagen regrowth can help to combat these conditions.
